Hawa Mahal, the five-story Palace of Winds, is a part of the palace complex and is located on the main street of Pink City. Built by Sawai Pratap Singh in 1799, its honeycomb facade of 953 latticed windows was designed as a naturally air-conditioned viewing gallery for the queens to look out for without being seen themselves.
