Motifs and designs, be it on the walls of a palace or a modest tribal hut can now be worn in scarves.
The Gonds are a tribe from central India. Their art can be traced back to more than 2000 years. The specialty of Gond paintings lies in the simple yet imaginative representation of the day-to-day lives of rural people. The paintings capture nature, festivals, and folklore in vivid colours and dramatic forms. Gond paintings were traditionally painted on walls by the women using simple colours made from charcoal, coloured soil, plant sap, leaves, and cow dung.
