Motifs and designs, be it on the walls of a palace or a modest tribal hut can now be worn in scarves.
The City Palace of Karauli is grand both inside and outside. Its exquisitely painted walls and ceilings and in places the door make it one of the most beautiful yet less known palaces of eastern Rajasthan. Arjun Pal, founder of Karauli, had built the original city palace in the 14th century. What remains today was later added on by Raja Gopal Singh in the 18th century.
This exquisite silk and cotton blended scarf is soft and light and has been handwoven by the weavers of Chanderi.
